I have no doubts we will be shitting bricks for years to come.Īnd then next next gen? That will be amazing too. I just wish Covid would fuck off and these manufacturers would stop playing Chicken with each other and things were like the old days where we get massive blowouts of reveals and excitement. You will be able to have large scale assets rendered in close proximity instead of separated by mountains and tunnels. You are going to see some impressive things thanks to SSDs and a fundamental shift in level design. No every gen we are treated to a big leap and next gen won't be any different. Gamers naturally are more blown away when they see footage controlling the character versus just seeing a cinematic.Įvery gen is a big leap, I'm not one of those people that think some are big while other gens were small. R&C looks unreal, Horizon 2 even better but Shadow Fall was gameplay while H2 is inengine but not in the gameplay perspective. Its not even a fair comparison cause we haven't seen shit yet. The biggest problem is that everyone is so tight lipped about next gen.
It's not like last gen where the previous gen used completely different architecture and technologies while also being RAM starved machines, because the 8th gen had lots of RAM and uses a lot of the same technologies as 9th gen, so everything is going to be more iterative in terms of game design, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the cross gen period last at least as long as last gen but likely longer Killzone Shadow Fall was released on 15 November 2013 as a launch title for PlayStation 4 in North America and 29 November 2013 in Europe.
It is the sixth game of the Killzone series and the fourth game of the series for home consoles. Halo Infinite is cross generation, but I feel like once they fix the lighting (hopefully with RT at launch) the really high quality assets will begin to show a very next gen looking game (also, the wide open world rumored to have almost no loading screens and what looked like an emphasis on physics objects from the demo and trailer)īecause of diminishing returns and what not, we likely won't get a huge "Killzone Shadowfall" next gen moment before launch, but I feel like everything we have seen so far definitely shows a pretty big generational leap. Killzone Shadow Fall is a 2013 first-person shooter video game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. The Medium also looks absolutely stunning and is definitely a solid step above pretty much every game this generation in terms of pure fidelity. The crazy physics objects, the particles flying around, the almost instant world switching looks all a good step above current gen.
I mean, the Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart demo was pretty much that for me.
